Questions and Thoughts!
Hope you are all having a great week and are ready for Christmas! Some insight and questions for you! FYI - I read from the New Living Translation, just something about it that I like. I think it throws people off when I read from it as many read from the NIV.
Mark 10:29-30
29And Jesus replied, "I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, 30will receive now in return, a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property--with persecutions. And in the world to come they will have eternal life.
I really felt I experienced this when I moved my family from Lenexa, KS to Omaha 2 years ago. I was living a very comfortable life and in cruise mode. We were part of a healthy church and serving those in our community. Life was all in line and we were just plain comfortable. Cindy and I heard and felt Gods call to leave the comfortable and embrace the un-known. We were humbled to living with family for seven months and were forced to rely on him for many months as we lived on a very minimal income. I need to remember that God is not really interested in our comfort, he is more interested in our character. I praise him for this realization, his word that drives this home and for you "men" in my life that challenge me and encourage me to be a better leader and follower of Christ.
Mark 14:51-52
51There was a young man following along behind, clothed only in a linen nightshirt. When the mob tried to grab him, 52they tore off his clothes, but he escaped and ran away naked. --- Your thoughts appreciated on these verses!!!
Exodus 4:24
24On the journey, when Moses and his family had stopped for the night, the LORD confronted Moses[a] and was about to kill him. ---- Why is the LORD trying to kill Moses in this passage?
Hope you are all taking some time to be in the Word today and each day this week and beyond!
In His Grip -
Coach Kev
